Major influences: In the design of healthcare and the educational facilities there is a growing body of research that shows that good design can help patients heal faster, and students to learn more effectively. This is exciting research that supports what architects have been saying all along. Architecture can improve people's lives in very tangible ways.
Memorable project: All projects are exciting. I enjoy the process, from the design's inception to the day the doors open on a new building. I remember a high school I designed. It had been a long and arduous process but the building was completed and as I made a final inspection, some of the students came in to take a look. Their excitement and enthusiasm for their new school is something I will never forget.
