sustainable design

Reducing a building's impact on the natural environment is no longer viewed as an "extra." Our integrated design approach seamlessly weaves sustainability into a structure's overall plans, without sacrificing beauty or character.

When it comes to green, we've been ahead of the curve. Several staff members are certified in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED), a rating system that upholds national standards for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings. Our project for the YWCA of Western Massachusetts will be the first LEED-certified supportive housing in the state. Other projects of note include Phase I of the Churchill Neighborhood project in Holyoke, which was one of just a few Hope VI-funded projects in the nation to have met Energy Star requirements when it was constructed.
