Dutch Point Housing (Hartford, CT)
Dietz & Company Architects designed the homeownership component of this planned residential community located in the historic Sheldon/Charter Oak neighborhood of Hartford. Previously occupied by outdated public housing, this project involved design services for 61 new townhouses. Funded under Hope VI, this project required submission of funding applications in a competitive process.
Project particulars include the design of new residences based on the owner's marketing analysis and revisions to the site Master Plan to incorporate the townhouses. Dietz & Company Architects prepared a mix of two- and three-story townhouses with front porches, rear yards and both integrated and detached garages. Several units include carriage houses atop garages. When completed, the new community will feature pedestrian friendly public areas, convenient townhouse/parking access and a mix of floor plans that cater to a variety of living options.
