Berkshire Medical Center Finish Upgrades (Pittsfield, MA)
Dietz & Company Architects, along with Spec's Design Group, worked with this 306 bed facility to upgrade numerous public spaces. An organic "leaf motif" design element was implemented throughout the interior finish palette of this project. Phase I of the project featured upgraded public spaces where new interior wall and floor finishes were incorporated in the main lobby, waiting areas and public corridors. Phase II included the replacement of ceiling, wall and floor finishes in a majority of elevator cabs in the hospital. The renovated cabs feature embossed metal laminate wall panels and warm cherry and maple wood tones. A series of geometric grid patterns using a mission style vocabulary completes the design.
